Still playing catch up ( Sebastians first day of school)

Sebastian started pre-school the second week in September and he loves it. We are really excited about this preschool because he is actually learning something every day! His teachers are awesome and are doing a great job of challenging him. He has made lots of new friends. He's even had his first field trip already! Here are a few pictures of his big day!

Max is six months!!!

Wow, time is just flying by with this little man! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. He was actually 6 months on Thursday of last week but had his doctors appointment yesterday. He weighed in at 17 lbs 6 oz which is the 50 % and was 28 1/2 in long which is 95%. The doctor said his tongue tie has stretched out nicely and since he is able to stick his tongue out he won't be needing surgery Yay! Max is a crawling mad man and has been for over a month now. Some of his newest tricks are going from crawling to sitting all by himself, pulling up on things, putting everything and anything into his mouth! He loves sticking out his tongue, I often find him crawling around with his tongue out which is so cute. He loves his big brother and is always laughing at him. When I tell him its time to go get brother from school he gets so excited! We love Max so much and are so happy he is part of our family!

Just because their so cute!

Here are some pictures of the boys. Sebastian is getting harder and harder to photograph, when he sees me grab the camera he runs (little stinker)! I'm going to have to come up with more craftier ways to take his picture. He is only a willing participant when he take them with Max.

Air Show

This is a little last, but better late than never. On August 8 we had the oppertunity to attend a local air show. We had a great time even though it rained all day! Sebastian still talks about it!

Girls Camp

Once again this year I was able to attend girls camp and as always it was an awesome experience. I had the opportunity to take my cousin along with me this year who is not a member and is going through some things in her life right now. I think it was a positive experience for her and I know she had a good time. Donald, Sebastian, and Max came up on Thursday and lets just say Sebastian was in his glory, young women everywhere and they were all fussing over. I looked over at one point and saw him on the bench with two girls inviting them to his birthday party! This kid cracks me up, he is sooooo much fun to have in our family! Here are pictures from the week.

Something to think about!

True Story.....

Luke AFB is west of Phoenix and is rapidly being surrounded by civilization that complains about the noise from the base and its planes, forgetting that it was there long before they were. A certain lieutenant colonel at Luke AFB deserves a big pat on the
back. Apparently, an individual who lives somewhere near Luke AFB wrote the local paper complaining about a group of F-16s that disturbed his/her day at the mall.

When that individual read the response from a Luke AFB officer, it must have stung quite a bit.

The complaint:

'Question of the day for Luke Air Force Base:

Whom do we thank for the morning air show? Last Wednesday, at precisely 9:11 A.M, a tight formation of four F-16 jets made a low pass over Arrowhead Mall, continuing west over Bell Road at approximately 500 feet. Imagine our good fortune! Do the Tom Cruise-wannabes feel we need this wake-up call, or were they trying to impress the cashiers at Mervyns early bird special?

Any response would be appreciated.

The response:

Regarding 'A wake-up call from Luke's jets' On June 15, at precisely 9:12 a.m
. , a perfectly timed four- ship fly by of F-16s from the 63rd Fighter Squadron at Luke Air Force Base flew over the grave of Capt. Jeremy Fresques. Capt Fresques was an Air Force officer who was previously stationed at Luke Air Force Base and was killed in Iraq on May 30, Memorial Day.

At 9 a.m. on June 15, his family and friends gathered at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City to mourn the loss of a husband, son and friend. Based on the letter writer's recount of the fly by, and because of the jet noise, I'm sure you didn't hear the 21-gun salute, the playing of taps, or my words to the widow and parents of Capt. Fresques as I gave them their son's flag on behalf of the President of theUnited States and all those veterans and servicemen and women who understand the sacrifices they have endured..

A four-ship fly by is a display of respect the Air Force gives to those who give their lives in defense of freedom. We are professional aviators and take our jobs seriously, and on June 15 what the letter writer witnessed was four officers lining up to pay their ultimate respects.

The letter writer asks, 'Whom do we thank for the morning airshow? The 56th Fighter Wing will make the call for you, and forward your thanks to the widow and parents of Capt Fresques, and thank them for you, for it was in their honor that my pilots flew the most honorable formation of their lives.

Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Playing Catch Up

Its been a while since our last post as things got pretty crazy here for a bout a month or so. Max was having a hard time and just crying all the time. However I think we have gotten things figured out. The doctor finally has his dose right for the acid reflux and as of last Saturday he his sleeping through the night. He usually goes down around 7:30 and sleeps until 6:30. He has started to develop his own little personality, he is very strong willed and independent. He likes to act like his is bigger then he really is and always has to no what is going on. When big brother is in the room no one else exists. His smile takes over his whole face I just love it. We are getting ready to put the boys together in the same room as long as Max keeps up the good sleeping. Sebastian has been keeping busy playing with his cousins, camping, fishing and having sleep overs! Max turned 2 months on June 1 and here are his stats: Length 23 in 50% thats up from 18 in at his 2 week app. Weight 10lbs 1 oz 50% thats up from 5 lbs 13 oz at his 2 week. Donald is in the home stretch of school, he starts his final semester on Monday. We are so excited for him to finish up and start a new adventure.

Best Buds

This past week Sebastian's best friend Caleb came down from Columbus to stay with his grandma. The boys got to play together Thur-Sun. The highlight was Friday when we all went to the Trumbull county fair. These little boys were fearless going on every ride that they could including some adult rides. They had so much fun and never got in a fight or argument once, they just play so well together! Sebastian keeps asking me when do I get to see Caleb again. Hopefully soon! (Some of these pics are from Kira's blog)

Max turns two months!

On June first Max turned two months. His stats were as follows
Weight: 10lbs 1oz (50%) up from 5lb 13 oz at 2 weeks
Length: 23 in (50%) up from 18 in at 2 weeks
To say he's growing like a weed is a complete understatement!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day this year we started out as we always do with a pancake breakfast and flag raising at our church. Afterwards we headed to the cemetery to take flowers and let off balloons at my cousins grave. He was killed while serving our country in Iraq in 2004. Later that day we went to my parents house for a BBQ. Sebastian had tons of fun playing with his uncles and cousins as you can tell in the pictures the slip n slide was a big hit! Uncle Michael and Uncle Darnel decided to through on their suits and show the kids how its really done!

PBS Book Fair

A few days after Max was born PBS had a book fair at Fellows Riverside Garden. We had promised Sebastian he could go so after the Saturday morning session of General Conference Donald and him went and checked it out. He had a lot of fun but was afraid of the costumes. He has grown up so much in this last month and half! He is such a special little boy and we love having in our family!
